Hidrate-se was built with privacy as a core principle. No personal data is sent to external servers. Everything stays on your device.

This Privacy Policy describes how the Hidrate-se app ("we", "our", or "the app") handles user information. By using the app, you agree to the terms described in this document.

The app is free, requires no account creation, and works completely offline.

2Locally stored data

To function properly, the app stores the following information exclusively on your device, using local storage (SQLite and AsyncStorage):

  • Personal profile: name, weight, height, biological sex, and activity level — used to calculate your hydration goal.
  • Hydration records: amount in ml, time, and container type (glass, bottle, mug, or manual).
  • Notification settings: sleep and wake time, reminder interval, and message tone.
  • App preferences: language and theme (light/dark).

This data never leaves your device. We have no access to it.

3Data we do NOT collect

Hidrate-se does not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Personally identifiable information (email, ID number, phone).
  • Location or geolocation data.
  • Usage data, telemetry, or analytics.
  • Financial or payment information.
  • Contacts, camera, microphone, or any other device data unrelated to app features.

We do not use third-party services for tracking or advertising.

4Notifications

With your permission, the app sends local notifications to remind you to drink water throughout the day.

  • Notifications are generated and processed locally on your device, with no data sent to external servers.
  • Reminders respect the sleep schedule configured in your profile.
  • You can disable notifications at any time in the app or operating system settings.

5Permissions

The app may request the following permissions on Android:

  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: required to send hydration reminders.
  • SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: allows scheduling notifications at exact configured times.
  • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: re-enables reminders automatically after the device restarts.
  • VIBRATE: allows notifications to vibrate the device.

None of these permissions are used to collect data or track the user.

6Children

Hidrate-se is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not intentionally collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to the app inappropriately, please contact us.

7Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

We recommend you review this page occasionally to stay informed about any changes. Changes take effect immediately upon publication.
